Where it all began

Our Story

Butter and Spoon started during 2020. The owner was a Croupier in a Cruise ship before attending Pastry School at Pastry Arts Academy Philippines in Davao City and got his Diploma in Baking in Pastry Arts. While waiting for his internship abroad, he went back to Gensan and helped his father's Roastery Business.

With his Business Course during college, they were able to make a good run with his dad but because of the surge of swine flu and the pandemic, they were not able to cope up with the business challenges that led to its closure. While doing the business, it opened his eyes with opportunities to become an entrepreneur. It didn't stop him to try and continue.

He opened a business with his own version of Filipino Spaghetti - the "Dj's Special Spaghetti". This business paved his way to meet new clients and know business handling all the more. After a few months of selling his spaghetti, he was able to save and capitalize his own kitchen/production area and eventually paved the way to buy his second-hand convection oven.

Slowly, taking his precept, "One step at a time" and "One day or Day One", he was able to build his own company and named it "Butter and Spoon Food Services". 'Butter'-represents his craft-baking and pastry arts, while 'Spoon'-represents his love for food and its entirety.

His aim is not only to sell desserts, but also to innovate all kinds of food that he thinks people would love as he came from a family of good cooks with delicious family recipes.

In 2021, he made sure to step out of his comfort zone and step-up a little higher by opening his own physical store. He believes that life is too short to live on the sideways and be overcame by fear. He believes that God made all these things possible because the team has exerted so much effort, love in their craft, customer service as their top priority, and always seeking for "growth". These are all bound by their foundation - the goal to be able to help others and the economy by means of employment.

Challenges will always be part of the game, and he and his team certainly believes that they will overcome all adversities and triumph as they move forward in reaching their goals.
